16 New Mission Presidents Called to Serve Worldwide, Including New Missions in Greece, Idaho and Mississippi

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces new leaders for 16 missions worldwide, with most beginning service in July 2026. The appointments include new missions in Greece, Idaho, and Mississippi, reflecting the church's global expansion.

16 New Mission Presidents Called to Serve Worldwide, Including New Missions in Greece, Idaho and Mississippi

The following new mission presidents and companions have been called to serve by the First Presidency. Most will begin their service in July.

Among the notable appointments, Howard D. McKeon and Heather G. McKeon will serve in the Greece Athens Mission, marking a significant expansion in that region. Brother McKeon is a stake presidency counselor, and Sister McKeon is an assistant director of public affairs.

Scott H. Welch and Laura Welch will lead the new Idaho Coeur d'Alene Mission. Brother Welch is a former stake president, and Sister Welch is a former stake Young Women president.

Graden P. Jackson and Sommer Jackson will serve in the new Mississippi Jackson Mission. Brother Jackson is a stake president, and Sister Jackson is a temple ordinance worker.

The appointments span multiple continents, including missions in the Philippines, Dominican Republic, Romania, Oregon, Nigeria, Brazil, Guatemala, and Germany. Each couple brings extensive church leadership experience and will guide missionaries in their respective regions.

These mission presidents will oversee the spiritual development and service activities of hundreds of missionaries, helping to spread the gospel and serve communities around the world.
