The 25th Annual Gospel Music Expo is scheduled to take place at the Family Life Center/Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert on March 20, 21, and 22. This event, initiated by the gospel group Trinity (Cheryl Burk and Kim Mason, along with founding member Gary Adams), began as a one-night sing in 2001 and has since expanded into a major regional gospel music celebration.
The expo features gospel groups and soloists from several states, including Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, New York, and Kentucky. The event has grown significantly over its 25-year history, becoming a cornerstone of gospel music in the region.
The grand finale on Sunday, March 22, will feature Trinity and The Guardians, a southern gospel quartet known for their unique sound and commitment to sharing the gospel. The Guardians have received three Dove Award nominations and achieved multiple No. 1 songs, making them one of the most respected groups in southern gospel music.
All three nights of the Gospel Expo are free to attend, supported by local sponsors and free-will offerings. This accessibility has been a key factor in the event's success and longevity, allowing families and individuals from all economic backgrounds to experience high-quality gospel music.
The Gospel Music Expo represents more than just entertainment; it serves as a gathering place for the faith community, offering spiritual encouragement, fellowship, and an opportunity to celebrate the rich tradition of gospel music. Over the years, the event has featured hundreds of artists and has touched the lives of thousands of attendees.
The event's 25th anniversary marks a significant milestone, demonstrating the enduring appeal of gospel music and the dedication of organizers like Trinity who have maintained this tradition for a quarter century.
