CeCe Winans Releases The Hymns, a 16-Track Return to Gospel Roots
Gospel legend CeCe Winans released The Hymns on June 5, 2026, a 16-track album of classic worship songs reimagined in her signature style. The project is her most personal recording in years, aimed at introducing foundational hymns to a new generation.

CeCe Winans released The Hymns on June 5, 2026, a 16-track collection of classic worship songs recorded under Pure Springs Gospel, Inc., with an exclusive license to Fair Trade Services.
The album features songs including "Blessed Assurance," "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," "It Is Well," and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." Winans released "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" as the lead single ahead of the album's arrival.
Winans said the project holds deep personal and spiritual significance. She described the hymns as songs that have provided comfort and truth to believers across generations, and said she wanted to bring them to listeners who may not have grown up with them.
The production keeps arrangements simple and uncluttered, placing the focus on the lyrics rather than elaborate instrumentation. The album runs approximately 54 minutes.
Winans is one of the most decorated artists in gospel music history, with multiple Grammy Awards to her name. Her 2026 Grammy nomination in the Gospel category came alongside the release of this project.
The album arrives during a strong period for gospel music releases. LaShá Knox also released her debut album Testify Vol. 1 on June 5, and Tori Kelly released God Must Really Love Me on June 12.
