CeCe Winans Wins Grammy for Best Gospel Performance, Releases New Album
CeCe Winans took home the Grammy for Best Gospel Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2026 for her song featuring Shirley Caesar. She also released a new album, The Hymns, earlier this year.

CeCe Winans won the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance and Song at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, held February 1, 2026. Her winning track, "Come Jesus Come," featured gospel legend Shirley Caesar.
The win added to Winans' already extensive Grammy history, making her one of the most decorated gospel artists of her generation. She also released a new album, The Hymns, in the first half of 2026, drawing on traditional hymns from the Black church tradition.
The 68th Grammy ceremony recognized several other artists in the gospel and Christian music categories. Brandon Lake took Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance for "Hard Fought Hallelujah," recorded with country artist Jelly Roll. Darrel Walls and PJ Morton won Best Gospel Album for Heart of Mine.
The Gospel Music Association reported that gospel and Christian music saw an 18.5 percent increase in on-demand audio streams in the United States during 2025, outpacing several major genres. Industry observers say the growth reflects a younger, streaming-forward audience discovering gospel through social media platforms.
Pastor Donnie McClurkin also made news this year, announcing that his upcoming project, FINALLY, will be his final recording. McClurkin, a longtime figure in Black gospel music, said he wants to close his recording career on his own terms.
The gospel music sector is also seeing more cross-cultural collaboration, with artists blending Afro-gospel, Latin rhythms, and Caribbean influences into worship music.
