Chandler Moore took home the BMI Gospel Song of the Year award for "Lead Me On" at the 2026 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards, held July 21 in Nashville.
The song, a lead single from Moore's 2024 solo album "Chandler Moore: Live In Los Angeles," spent 28 weeks on Billboard's Gospel Airplay charts. It was Moore's first number-one hit as a solo artist.
"Lead Me On" was co-written by Moore, Jonathan Jay, and Jeff Pardo. Capitol CMG Publishing was named BMI Gospel Publisher of the Year, in part because of its publisher share of the top 25 most-performed gospel songs, which included the winning track.
The same ceremony honored Kierra Sheard with the BMI Impact Award. Sheard and J Drew Sheard II and Kerry Douglas shared the BMI Gospel Songwriter of the Year title.
The BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards recognize the most-performed gospel songs and the writers and publishers behind them. BMI tracks radio airplay and streaming data to determine the top songs each year.
Moore, who rose to prominence as a worship leader with Maverick City Music, has been building his solo career since releasing his live album two years ago. The Song of the Year win marks a significant milestone in that effort.
