Gospel artist and pastor Courtney Franklin has signed with Tehillah Music Group, the label announced in early August 2026.

Tehillah Music Group President Jerry Parries said Franklin possesses a "unique gift" and that the timing was right for him to establish himself as a solo artist after years of supporting other musicians. Franklin is widely known in the gospel industry as "The Ad Lib King," a nickname earned through his vocal delivery and passionate performance style.

Franklin's career spans decades of collaboration with prominent gospel figures, including Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kurt Carr, and Kim Burrell. He was previously a member of the group FIYA, led by James Fortune, and gained significant industry attention in the 1990s for his performance of the single "I Believe" alongside Lisa Page Brooks.

Beyond music, Franklin serves as the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Power Spot Church in Memphis, Tennessee, where he ministers alongside his wife, Kanesha Franklin.

Tehillah Music Group indicated that new music from Franklin is expected to be released at the beginning of 2027. The signing adds to a busy summer for the gospel music industry, which also saw Marvin Sapp partner with Roc Nation for his 17th album and Koryn Hawthorne sign with Motown Gospel.
