Tehillah Music Group has signed gospel artist Courtney Franklin to its roster, the label announced in early August 2026. Franklin, who goes by the nickname "The Ad Lib King," is a Memphis-based pastor and vocalist with more than two decades of experience in the gospel industry.

Franklin is the founder and senior pastor of The Power Spot Church in Memphis, Tennessee, where he serves alongside his wife, First Lady Kanesha Franklin. His career includes work as a background vocalist and collaborator for some of gospel music's biggest names, including Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kurt Carr, and Kim Burrell. He was also a member of James Fortune's group, FIYA.

He first gained wide industry attention in the 1990s after performing the hit single "I Believe" with Lisa Page Brooks. That momentum led to the release of his debut solo album, "Time," in 2002.

Jerry Parries, president of Tehillah Music Group, said Franklin is a "unique gift" who has reached a point in his career where he deserves recognition as a solo artist in his own right. Parries said the label expects the partnership to make a strong impact in the gospel music space.

New music from Franklin is expected to arrive in early 2027. No specific project title or release date has been announced yet.

Tehillah Music Group has been expanding its roster in 2026, positioning itself as a home for established gospel voices looking to launch new chapters in their careers.
