Donnie McClurkin Releases Final Studio Album 'Finally' After Decades in Gospel Music

Gospel legend Donnie McClurkin released his final studio album, "Finally," on October 16, 2026, bringing his recording career to a close after more than four decades in gospel music.

McClurkin, 56, announced earlier this year that "Finally" would be his last studio project. The album's title reflects both the completion of a long-anticipated recording and the personal journey that shaped it. McClurkin has spoken publicly about health challenges and personal struggles that delayed the project from its originally planned summer release.

The album includes the lead single "Lord, I Thank You," which McClurkin released earlier in 2026 to strong response from gospel radio. The full project features collaborations with several artists and draws on the traditional gospel sound that made McClurkin a household name in Black churches across the country.

McClurkin rose to prominence in the 1990s and became one of the best-selling gospel artists of his generation. His self-titled debut album and the follow-up "We Fall Down" produced songs that remain staples in church worship services. He has won multiple Stellar Gospel Music Awards and Grammy Awards throughout his career.

In interviews leading up to the release, McClurkin said he wanted "Finally" to serve as a statement of faith and gratitude rather than a farewell. He said he plans to continue performing and ministering but will step back from the studio recording process.

The album is available on all major streaming platforms and for purchase through digital retailers.
