Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy Share Baptism Footage in Birthday Video

Actor Donnie Wahlberg marked his birthday on August 17 by posting a video montage on social media that included footage of his and wife Jenny McCarthy's baptisms. The ceremony was performed by Dudley Rutherford, lead pastor of the nondenominational Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, California.

Wahlberg has been vocal about his faith throughout 2026. He described a period of spiritual renewal, saying the Lord was "renewing my mind, rebuilding my spirit, rearranging my priorities, recentering my focus, recharging my energy, reshaping my heart, refining my faith, restoring my joy and redeeming my life." He called committing his life to Jesus his greatest accomplishment.

In an April 2026 appearance on The George Janko Show, Wahlberg said he had spent much of his life relying on his own resources before deciding to surrender to Christ. McCarthy echoed that sentiment on the Heal Squad podcast, saying the couple had "surrendered" and were "trusting the path" by honoring their purpose through the Lord.

Their public declaration drew support from figures in the Christian entertainment community, including Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Roumie. The baptism footage was one of several personal highlights Wahlberg included in the birthday reel, which he shared across his social media platforms.
