Dove Award Nominees Set to Be Announced as Gospel Music Association Prepares for 57th Ceremony

The Gospel Music Association announced that nominees for the 57th Annual Dove Awards will be revealed in late July 2026. The ceremony, one of the most prominent events in Christian and gospel music, follows a busy summer season that included the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards and preparations for the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in August.

The Gospel Music Association announced that nominees for the 57th Annual Dove Awards will be revealed in late July 2026, kicking off the fall awards season for Christian and gospel music.

The Dove Awards are among the most recognized honors in Christian music, covering categories from contemporary Christian to traditional gospel, worship, and spoken word.

The announcement follows a busy summer for the gospel music industry. On July 21, BMI held its Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards in Nashville, where Kierra Sheard received the BMI Impact Award. Sheard also shared the Gospel Songwriter of the Year title with her brother J Drew Sheard II and Kerry Douglas, each having written three of the most-performed gospel songs of the past year.

The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards are scheduled for August 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina, hosted by Kirk Franklin. Central City Productions announced the first wave of performers and honorees in July.

The 40 Days of Christian Music event began July 28 at The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Williamston, Kentucky, featuring TrueSong, Lauren Talley, and Triumphant Quartet.

The gospel music community also mourned the loss of Clyde Wright, a longtime member of the Golden Gate Quartet, who died July 1 at age 98. Worship leader Brian Doerksen, known for "Come, Now Is the Time to Worship," died July 21 at age 60.
