Grammy-Nominated Koryn Hawthorne Signs With Motown Gospel, Teases New EP

Grammy-nominated gospel artist Koryn Hawthorne signed with Motown Gospel, a division of Capitol Christian Music Group and Universal Music Group, the label announced on July 9, 2026.

Hawthorne's first project under the new deal is an EP executive produced by J. White Did It, a producer known for his work with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Doechii, JT, and Yung Miami. The EP is scheduled for release in fall 2026.

She is previewing the new era with a single titled "His Favorite," described as an uplifting anthem blending gospel and R&B that conveys a message of being loved, chosen, and favored by God.

Hawthorne, a Louisiana native and former finalist on "The Voice," has established herself as a prominent figure in gospel music. She has achieved three No. 1 hits on Billboard's Gospel Airplay and Hot Gospel Songs charts. Her 2024 album "On God..." reached the top 10 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart.

The announcement followed her appearance at the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture, where she performed her RIAA Platinum-certified hit "Won't He Do It."

Brad O'Donnell, president of Capitol Christian Music Group, and Walter Thomas, executive vice president of Motown Gospel, both praised Hawthorne's voice and her connection with her audience. Hawthorne said she was excited to align with a label that understands her growth as an artist, a woman, and a person of faith.
