Guatemala Fifth Temple major Marks Milestone for Latter-day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrated a significant milestone with the major ceremony for Guatemala fifth temple in Huehuetenango.

Elder Patricio M. Giuffra presided over the ceremony and described the future temple as a place of power, healing and eternal hope for members in the region. The Huehuetenango Guatemala Temple will serve thousands of Latter-day Saints in northwestern Guatemala and surrounding areas.

Temples hold special significance for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as sacred spaces for worship, religious ceremonies, and spiritual reflection. The construction of this fifth temple in Guatemala reflects the growing membership and commitment of the Church in Central America.

The major ceremony was attended by local Church leaders, members, and community representatives who expressed gratitude for this new house of worship. Construction is expected to take several years, with the temple eventually becoming a landmark in the Huehuetenango community.
