KKR and Co. launched Helix Digital Infrastructure with over $10 billion in commitments to build and operate specialized AI infrastructure. The fund will partner with hyperscalers to accelerate large-scale AI deployment, marking a significant bet on dedicated AI infrastructure as a standalone asset class.

The announcement came as demand for AI computing capacity continues to grow. Hut 8 also signed a lease for a Texas AI data center project worth approximately $10 billion, potentially rising to $25.1 billion, designed to support 352 megawatts of IT capacity using Nvidia's architecture.

Fleet Data Centers, backed by Tract Capital, secured $4.6 billion through a senior secured notes offering for a large-scale AI infrastructure project in Storey County, Nevada. Nvidia secured at least $23 million in incentives from Irving, Texas, to expand its AI supercomputing presence.

Foxconn reported a 29.7 percent increase in revenue in April, driven by strong demand for AI servers and related hardware. The company's results reinforced that AI spending is flowing into physical infrastructure at a rapid pace.

A Silicon Valley startup called Panthalassa secured $140 million from Peter Thiel to develop floating, self-powered AI data centers in the ocean. The company plans to generate electricity from wave turbines and use seawater for cooling, offering an off-grid solution to AI's energy demands.

Tech Startups reported that the Asian Development Bank will support $70 billion in energy and digital infrastructure initiatives across Asia and the Pacific by 2035, including power grids and broadband expansion needed to support AI and digital services.
