The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held its 196th Annual General Conference in Salt Lake City on April 4-5, 2026. Members gathered at the Conference Center and tuned in globally to sustain Dallin H. Oaks as the new Church President.

The solemn assembly, held on Saturday morning, April 4, is a formal vote of support conducted only when a new Church President is called. President Oaks was announced as the new leader on October 14, 2025, following the death of President Russell M. Nelson on September 27, 2025.

Henry B. Eyring was sustained as First Counselor and D. Todd Christofferson as Second Counselor in the First Presidency.

In his closing remarks, President Oaks told members: "In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful." He emphasized peacemaking as a core Christian duty.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, President Oaks and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles bore testimonies of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square performed hymns about the Resurrection during the Sunday sessions.

The conference also announced eight new General Authority Seventies and a new Primary general presidency, both effective August 1. Twelve singers from 10 countries joined the Tabernacle Choir for the event.

The conference was broadcast in 80 languages. A new Temple Square Visitors' Center is scheduled to open to the public on May 18, 2026.
