Researchers backed by the University of Glasgow have found dozens of previously lost pages from one of the earliest known manuscripts of the Apostle Paul's New Testament writings. The pages were identified using advanced imaging technology that revealed hidden text in an ancient Christian manuscript.

The manuscript is considered one of the oldest surviving copies of Paul's letters, which form a significant portion of the New Testament. Scholars say the recovered pages could shed light on how early Christians copied and interpreted scripture.

CBN News reported that the discovery was made possible through multispectral imaging, a technique that detects text invisible to the naked eye. The pages had been obscured over centuries due to damage and overwriting.

Biblical scholars called the find significant. "These pages give us a clearer window into the earliest transmission of Paul's writings," said one researcher involved in the project.

The University of Glasgow team is working to digitize and publish the recovered text. A full academic report is expected later in 2026.

The discovery comes as interest in biblical archaeology has grown. Earlier this year, new imaging also uncovered hidden text in a separate ancient Christian manuscript, pointing to a broader wave of rediscoveries made possible by modern technology.
