Mike Pence Joins Colorado Christian University as Visiting Faculty for 2026-27 Year

Former Vice President Mike Pence is joining Colorado Christian University as a visiting faculty member for the 2026-2027 academic year, the Lakewood, Colorado school announced in early August 2026.

Pence will travel to the CCU campus approximately once a month to deliver lectures, lead classroom discussions, and engage directly with students. The appointment follows his prior involvement with the university, which included speaking at the CCU-hosted Western Conservative Summit and participating in an online summer course alongside CCU faculty.

That online course focused on the history, principles, and applications of American conservatism, drawing on themes from Pence's book, "What Conservatives Believe: Rediscovering the Conservative Conscience."

CCU President Eric Hogue said the partnership aligns with the university's mission to promote faith, freedom, constitutional government, and civil discourse. Hogue expressed admiration for Pence's commitment to principled service and said the appointment gives students an opportunity to learn from a leader who has navigated significant public policy challenges.

University leadership characterized the hiring as a deliberate effort to position CCU as a center for traditional conservatism. Hogue acknowledged the appointment might draw criticism from some parts of the conservative movement given Pence's actions during the January 6, 2021, certification of the presidential election, but expressed hope it would encourage civil dialogue.

Colorado Christian University, founded in 1914, is a private evangelical liberal arts university with about 10,000 students enrolled across its campus and online programs.
