National Black Church Initiative Launches Prayer Warriors Circle for Daily Morning Prayer
The National Black Church Initiative launched a new program called the Prayer Warriors Circle this month, offering daily morning prayer sessions for members. The initiative is part of the organization's broader effort to strengthen spiritual life in Black congregations across the country.
The National Black Church Initiative launched its Prayer Warriors Circle program in September 2026, offering daily morning prayer sessions to members of Black churches across the United States.
The NBCI, which represents more than 34,000 churches and 15.7 million African Americans, said the program is designed to deepen the spiritual lives of congregants and build community across denominational lines.
"Prayer is the foundation of everything we do," said NBCI President Anthony Evans. "This circle gives our members a daily anchor."
The Prayer Warriors Circle operates through a combination of in-person gatherings at participating churches and virtual sessions accessible by phone and online. Participants commit to a daily morning prayer time and are connected with a small group of fellow members for accountability.
The launch comes as the NBCI continues its work on health advocacy, including programs addressing maternal health disparities, vaccine hesitancy, and Parkinson's disease awareness in Black communities.
The organization has been active in civic engagement as well, with voter registration drives and advocacy on issues affecting African American families.
The Prayer Warriors Circle is open to members of any NBCI-affiliated congregation. Information on how to join is available through local churches and the NBCI website.
