Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra at London Event, Starting at $2,099

Samsung unveiled three new foldable phones at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, including the first-ever Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The Ultra model measures 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and starts at $2,099. All three devices go on sale August 5, with pre-orders open now.

Samsung unveiled three new foldable smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8, and the Galaxy Z Flip8.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the first time Samsung has included an Ultra model in its foldable lineup. It features an 8-inch main display and measures 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded, making it the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold to date. The device weighs 215 grams and uses Flex Titanium technology to improve durability and reduce crease visibility. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and includes a 5,000mAh battery. The Ultra starts at $2,099.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 features a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It weighs 201 grams, making it the lightest model in the Fold lineup. It uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and includes a 4,800mAh battery. The Fold8 starts at $1,899.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 focuses on portability and the FlexWindow interface, which lets users access notifications and app functions without unfolding the device. It measures 6.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and weighs 180 grams. Camera features include Camcorder Grip for stable one-handed recording, Super Steady with horizontal lock, and Dual Recording to capture both the creator and the subject at the same time. The Flip8 starts at $1,199.

All three devices are available for pre-order now, with retail availability beginning August 5, 2026. Samsung attributed the price increases partly to rising high-bandwidth memory costs.
