Tanya Nolan, a multi-genre artist known for her work in R&B, soul, smooth jazz, and blues, scored her first gospel No. 1 when her debut single "Blessings" topped both the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart and the Mediabase Gospel Airplay Chart for the week of June 15, 2026.

The achievement marked a major career milestone for Nolan, who had built her reputation across several genres before making her gospel debut. "Blessings" was produced by KP of The Colleagues, with engineering by Grammy Award-winning producer Darren "Lab Ox" Billy Jr.

Nolan has described the song as a personal testimony focused on faith, resilience, and gratitude. An official music video supported the single's release and generated significant engagement across digital platforms.

The chart success made Nolan the first artist from Galveston, Texas, to achieve Billboard chart success across multiple genres. The city recognized her achievement by declaring August 27, 2026, as Tanya Nolan Day.

Black Gospel Radio, which reported the chart milestone, noted that Nolan's crossover into gospel reflects a broader trend of established artists from other genres bringing their audiences into the gospel space.

The single's success came during a competitive period for gospel music, with artists including Darrel Walls, Lisa Knowles-Smith, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard all releasing major projects in 2026.
