TIME magazine released its annual list of the 300 best inventions of 2026 in October, spotlighting products and technologies that the editors say are reshaping industries and daily life.

The list, published on October 22, 2026, spans categories including consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, health technology, sustainability, and accessibility.

Among the most discussed entries is the Apple iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable smartphone, which launched at 1,999 dollars. TIME cited its engineering quality and the maturity of its software as reasons for the recognition, noting that Apple entered the foldable market later than competitors but with a more polished product.

Nvidia's NemoClaw, a system designed to contain and monitor autonomous AI agents to prevent them from operating outside their intended boundaries, also made the list. The tool addresses a growing concern in the AI industry about agents that take unintended actions when given broad access to systems.

Anthropic's Claude Code, which allows AI to autonomously write, test, and deploy software, was recognized for its impact on software development workflows. The tool has been adopted by engineering teams at companies of various sizes.

On the sustainability side, TIME highlighted passive radiative cooling materials that reflect sunlight and reduce building temperatures without electricity, and new methods for destroying PFAS, the so-called forever chemicals found in water supplies and consumer products.

Accessibility innovations included the OneCourt haptic tablet, which translates sports action into tactile feedback for fans with low vision.

The full list is available on TIME's website. Editors said the 2026 selections reflect a year in which AI moved from experimental to operational across many sectors, while sustainability and health technology continued to attract significant investment.
