Tori Kelly released "God Must Really Love Me" on June 12, 2026, through Epic Records. The album is her sixth studio project and her most personal to date, shaped by the birth of her son, Zayden, and her marriage to André Murillo.

Kelly began writing the album during her 2025 summer tour with Ed Sheeran, recording demos in studios along the tour route. Most of the recording took place in Los Angeles over two weeks in January 2026. She produced the project alongside collaborators including Tommy King, Ammo, and Forrest Frank. Zayden's voice appears on several tracks, recorded while Kelly held him during sessions.

The album takes a quieter approach than her earlier work. Kelly said she wanted the lyrics to be heard clearly, so she pulled back on vocal theatrics and let the words carry the songs. Tracks like "Bird" rank among the most vulnerable she has written. Lead singles "Control" and "Dive" were released on May 8, 2026.

"God Must Really Love Me" reached number 10 on the UK Christian and Gospel Albums chart. The single "Control" peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, and "Name of Jesus" reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart.

To support the album, Kelly launched the "Jesus Generation Tour" alongside Forrest Frank, Cory Asbury, and the Figs. The tour runs 29 dates across the United States from June through August 2026. An international leg begins in Madrid in November and concludes in London in December.

The album has drawn strong response from gospel and Christian music audiences, with critics praising its warmth and intimate production.
