The Vulnerable People Project launched the West Bank Solidarity Project in September 2026, a new initiative designed to track how American Catholic media outlets cover the challenges facing Christians in the Holy Land.
The project, led by VPP founder Jason Jones, publishes weekly overviews of coverage from major Catholic news organizations. The goal is to hold media accountable for how it reports on the shrinking Christian presence in cities like Bethlehem, Taybeh, Birzeit, and Beit Sahour.
The West Bank Solidarity Project builds on VPP's Save West Bank Christians campaign, which launched on Ash Wednesday 2026. That campaign focuses on raising awareness about threats to historic Christian communities from expanding Israeli settlements and land seizures.
VPP also operates a job creation program in the West Bank. The program provides economic support to Christian families, with the aim of giving them a reason to stay in communities their ancestors have called home for centuries.
The organization says the combination of advocacy, media monitoring, and economic support is necessary to address what it describes as a quiet but accelerating displacement of Christians from the region.
