An evangelistic crusade in Whitmire, South Carolina on September 26 and 27, 2026 drew a large response from children and teenagers, with many professing faith and receiving baptism over the two-night event.
World Harvest Ministry organized the services in Whitmire, a community of about 1,489 people in Newberry County. Local pastors and volunteers had spent years praying for spiritual renewal in the town before the crusade was scheduled.
Evangelist Jacob Ebersole, who participated in the campaign, said many young people moved toward the altar without prompting. He described watching friends pray for one another and children kneeling in surrender.
The event nearly did not happen as planned. A generator failed hours before the first service. Community members stepped in to provide power. One father who helped with the emergency later attended the crusade. His children professed faith and were baptized during the weekend.
Ministry team members and attendees also reported instances of physical healing, including individuals who said they were able to walk without medical devices after receiving prayer.
Following the crusade, local leaders shifted focus to discipleship for those who made professions of faith. Discussions are underway about a "Small Town Movement" that would apply the Whitmire model to other small communities across South Carolina.
CBN News produced a documentary titled "Revival Generation" examining the spiritual impact of the event on students.
