Anthropic Expands Project Glasswing to 150 New Organizations Across 15 Countries
Anthropic has expanded its Project Glasswing cybersecurity initiative to include 150 new organizations across more than 15 countries, adding critical infrastructure sectors such as power, water, healthcare, and telecommunications. The program uses the Claude Mythos AI model to detect and patch software vulnerabilities, and has already identified more than 10,000 high-severity security flaws.
Anthropic has expanded its Project Glasswing cybersecurity initiative to include 150 new organizations across more than 15 countries, the company announced on June 2, 2026. The expansion adds critical infrastructure sectors including power, water, healthcare, and telecommunications to the program, which uses Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview AI model to detect and patch software vulnerabilities.
The expansion brings the total number of participating organizations to approximately 200. New participants include entities in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea. Many of the new partners are vendors or nonprofits that maintain codebases relied upon by other organizations and governments globally.
Since its April 2026 launch with 50 initial partners, including Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia, Claude Mythos Preview has identified more than 10,000 high- or critical-severity security flaws. These include a 27-year-old vulnerability in OpenBSD and a 16-year-old flaw in FFmpeg.
"AI-augmented threats can find and exploit vulnerabilities at a scale and speed that surpass human capabilities," Anthropic said. "Project Glasswing is designed to give defenders the same advantage."
Anthropic has committed $100 million in model usage credits to support the initiative, along with $4 million in direct donations to open-source security organizations to help maintainers manage the increased volume of vulnerability reports.
The company has not made Claude Mythos Preview generally available, citing concerns about misuse. It has instead released Claude Security, a product using its public frontier models, for broader enterprise use.
Anthropic warns that within 6 to 12 months, other companies are expected to release models with similar capabilities, potentially without the same safeguards. The initiative is designed to establish operating norms and defensive infrastructure before such powerful capabilities become widely available.
