The Black Health Matters Foundation launched its Our Health Our Wellness national campaign on March 31, 2026, kicking off a month of events and resources aimed at closing health outcome gaps in underserved communities.

The campaign debuted at the American Cardiology Conference in New Orleans, where the foundation ran a dedicated booth for healthcare providers and pharmaceutical stakeholders. Dual-language resources in English and Spanish were distributed to expand access and health literacy.

"Being healthy and having access to proper services for wellness are essential as we age," said Roslyn Y. Daniels, CEO and founder of Black Health Matters. "I want OHOW to be a movement where people learn about impacts to themselves and their families and know how to speak with doctors."

The campaign focuses on six priority health areas: Alzheimer's, cancer, chronic kidney disease, heart health (including cholesterol, diabetes, and hypertension), mental health, and vaccinations.

A series of webinars runs through April. On April 8, the foundation hosted a session titled "Roll Up Your Sleeve: Vaccines in Lifelong Wellness." On April 14, a webinar on cancer prevention is scheduled. Additional sessions on living with cancer and future treatment innovations are planned for April 22 and April 29.

The foundation also partnered with the NCAA Women's Final Four in Phoenix for mobile mammography screenings from April 2 to 4.

The National Black Church Initiative, a coalition of 150,000 African American churches representing 27.7 million members, has been a key partner in health outreach efforts. The initiative runs programs on financial literacy, housing literacy, small business support, and digital access alongside its health work.

The Our Health Our Wellness campaign is available at the OHOW website, where community members can find health information, wellness screenings, and educational events.
