Financial Literacy Hub Opens in Gaithersburg as Virtuity Financial Partners Expands Community Reach
Virtuity Financial Partners opened a new Financial Literacy Hub in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on April 25, 2026. The hub aims to bring financial education directly to workplaces, schools, and community organizations in an area with significant financial need.

Virtuity Financial Partners opened a new Financial Literacy Hub in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on April 25, 2026, as part of a broader push to bring financial education into underserved communities.
The hub is designed to serve as a physical space where residents can access financial counseling, attend workshops, and connect with advisors. Virtuity said the Gaithersburg location was chosen because of the area's diverse population and the high demand for financial education services in the region.
Victor Omokehinde, who leads financial literacy outreach for the organization, said the hub is part of a national effort to close the gap between financial knowledge and financial action. "Knowing what to do is not enough," Omokehinde said. "People need a place to go, someone to talk to, and tools they can actually use."
The opening coincides with National Financial Literacy Month, which is observed every April. The U.S. Senate designated April as Financial Literacy Month to raise awareness about the importance of money management skills.
The hub will offer programming on budgeting, debt reduction, retirement planning, and homeownership. Virtuity said it plans to partner with local employers to bring financial education workshops directly to workplaces, where employees can attend during lunch breaks or after work.
In Baltimore, a city with a significant Black population and high rates of poverty, similar financial literacy efforts have focused on generational wealth building. Advocates there say financial education is most effective when it is delivered in trusted community spaces, including churches, schools, and community centers.
The FDIC hosted a national event on April 22 called "Money Smart Moves: Banker Led Strategies for Financial Education and Well Being," highlighting how financial institutions are using educational resources to strengthen financial knowledge in their communities.
The Gaithersburg hub is open Monday through Saturday and offers both in-person and virtual appointments.
