Gospel artist Jonathan Nelson has signed a recording contract with Tyscot Records' Tyscot Worship imprint, the label announced in January 2026.

Nelson is a worship leader and recording artist known for his work in contemporary gospel music. The signing adds him to a label that has been a cornerstone of gospel music for five decades.

Tyscot Records is marking its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a homecoming concert scheduled for July 23 in Indianapolis. The label has been a consistent presence in gospel music since its founding and continues to expand its roster through the Tyscot Worship imprint.

The deal comes during a busy period for the gospel music industry. Several major signings have been announced in 2026, including Koryn Hawthorne joining Motown Gospel, Marvin Sapp partnering with Roc Nation for his 17th album, and Aaron Lavelle signing with TRIBL Records.

The Gospel Industry Coalition, established as a nonprofit in 2024, has been working to bring greater unity to the gospel music sector. The organization has pushed for collaboration across labels and artists rather than isolated operations.

Nelson's signing with Tyscot Worship signals continued investment in worship-focused gospel music as the genre grows its audience both in churches and on streaming platforms.
