Leadership at Motown Gospel and Capitol Christian Music Group praised Hawthorne's distinctive voice and artistic vision. The signing came shortly after her performance at the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture, where she performed her RIAA Platinum-certified hit "Won't He Do It."
