LifeStance Health Data Shows 79% of Anxiety Patients Improve with Measurement-Informed Care

LifeStance Health, one of the country's largest outpatient mental health providers, published clinical outcomes data in April 2026 showing strong results for patients treated for anxiety and depression.

The analysis covered nearly 180,000 patients. Among those treated for anxiety, 79% experienced clinically significant improvement. Among those treated for depression, 73% showed improvement.

The data supports what clinicians call measurement-informed care, an approach that uses standardized assessments at regular intervals to track patient progress and adjust treatment accordingly.

LifeStance operates across the country, offering in-person and telehealth services. The company has expanded rapidly as demand for mental health care has grown.

The results come as more Americans are prioritizing mental health. A December 2025 poll by the American Psychiatric Association found that 38% of Americans planned to make a mental health-related New Year's resolution, a 5% increase from the prior year. Among adults aged 18 to 34, that figure was 58%.

Anxiety remains the most common concern. Americans reported anxiety about personal finances (59%), uncertainty about the coming year (53%), and current events (49%).

Telehealth has played a major role in expanding access to mental health care. Therapy chatbots are also gaining traction, offering support to people who face financial or geographic barriers to traditional therapy. Clinicians note that while digital tools can help, they cannot fully replace human connection in treatment.
