Monday.com Cuts 630 Jobs as It Reorganizes Around AI-Driven Platform

Monday.com announced in late July 2026 that it is cutting roughly 20 percent of its global workforce, approximately 630 positions, as part of a reorganization around an AI-driven platform.

The company, which makes work management and project tracking software, said the layoffs are designed to reduce operational costs and redirect resources toward AI product development. Monday.com has been building AI features into its platform over the past year.

CEO Roy Mann said the restructuring is necessary to compete in a market where AI capabilities are becoming a baseline expectation for enterprise software. The company plans to use savings from the workforce reduction to accelerate AI development.

Affected employees were notified in late July. The company said it will provide severance packages and job placement support. Most of the cuts are in roles that overlap with functions being automated or restructured.

Monday.com is publicly traded on the Nasdaq. The company has been profitable in recent quarters but faces pressure from investors to show a clear AI strategy as competitors including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Asana have all made significant AI announcements.

The layoffs are part of a broader pattern in enterprise software. Several companies have announced workforce reductions in 2026 as they shift spending from headcount to AI infrastructure and tooling.
