NBCI Launches Prayer Warriors Circle to Connect Black Church Members in Daily Morning Prayer

The National Black Church Initiative launched its Prayer Warriors Circle on September 25, a new program connecting members of Black churches across the country through daily morning prayer.

The NBCI, which represents 150,000 African American churches and 27.7 million members, says the initiative is designed to strengthen spiritual life and build community bonds across its network.

Participants in the Prayer Warriors Circle receive daily prayer prompts and can join virtual prayer sessions each morning. The program is open to all members of NBCI-affiliated churches.

"Prayer is the foundation of everything we do," said NBCI President Anthony Evans. "This circle gives our members a way to start each day connected to God and to each other."

The launch comes as the NBCI continues to expand its programming in 2026. The organization has also been active in health advocacy, voter mobilization, and educational initiatives throughout the year.

The Prayer Warriors Circle is free to join and accessible through the NBCI's website and mobile app. The organization plans to host special prayer events tied to national observances and community needs throughout the year.

NBCI leaders say they hope the program will draw participation from across the country, including from churches that are not yet formal members of the coalition. The organization has been working to expand its reach and membership in recent years.

The initiative reflects a broader trend of faith organizations using digital tools to maintain community connections and spiritual practices outside of Sunday services.
