Trilith Foundation Launches Human Flourishing Campaign for Mental Health Awareness Month
The Trilith Foundation announced its 2026 Mental Health Awareness Month campaign, titled Human Flourishing: Stories of Hope, Healing, and Possibility. The initiative focuses on real-life stories of people who have found ways to live well despite mental health challenges, aiming to reduce stigma and encourage earlier help-seeking.

The Trilith Foundation announced its 2026 Mental Health Awareness Month campaign on April 10, 2026, under the theme "Human Flourishing: Stories of Hope, Healing, and Possibility."
The campaign moves away from statistics and clinical language, instead featuring real-life accounts of individuals who have navigated mental health challenges and found paths to meaningful lives. Foundation officials said the goal is to show that acknowledging pain can coexist with hope.
Storytellers with lived experience, mental health advocates, and media partners will participate in a press conference to launch the effort. The foundation is encouraging media organizations to integrate human flourishing concepts into their coverage year-round, not just during May.
"We want to normalize conversations about mental health by showing what recovery and resilience actually look like," a foundation spokesperson said.
The campaign comes as the American Psychiatric Association reports that 38% of Americans planned to make a mental health-related resolution for 2026, a 5% increase from the previous year. Younger adults between 18 and 34 were significantly more likely to prioritize mental health goals.
Anxiety remains widespread. The APA's Healthy Minds Poll found that 59% of Americans cited personal finances as a source of anxiety heading into 2026, followed by uncertainty about the future at 53% and current events at 49%.
The World Health Organization released an updated Global Mental Health Report in February 2026, finding that mental health conditions now account for 13% of the global disease burden. Fewer than 20% of people with mental health conditions receive evidence-based treatment.
Mental Health Awareness Month is observed each May. The Trilith Foundation's campaign materials will be available through its website and partner organizations.
