Tyscot Records opened its 50th-anniversary year with a Grammy win at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, held February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The album Heart of Mine, a joint project between gospel artist Darrel Walls and R&B musician PJ Morton, won Best Gospel Album of the Year. The album was released through a partnership between Tyscot and Morton's Gumbo Studios label. Its lead single, "Able," has surpassed five million digital streams.

Founded in Indianapolis in 1976, Tyscot is recognized as the world's oldest continuously operating African American-owned and faith-based recording label. The label has launched the careers of artists including Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, and Deitrick Haddon.

In January 2026, Tyscot signed praise and worship leader Jonathan Nelson to its Tyscot Worship imprint. Nelson, who has not released a full album of new material since 2018, is expected to drop a radio single this spring.

The label also closed 2025 with strong chart performance. Bri Babineaux's track "Confident" ranked second on the Billboard year-end Gospel Airplay chart. Jason Nelson's collaboration with Melvin Crispell III, "Yahweh," reached number one on both Billboard and Mediabase gospel charts earlier in the year.

Tyscot is planning a 50th-anniversary homecoming concert for July 23, 2026, in Indianapolis. The event will feature current and former label artists.

Journal of Gospel Music reported that the label ranked sixth among all gospel record labels in radio airplay support in 2025, holding a four percent share of the airplay audience.
