Apple Announces HomeView Smart Home Hub at $299, Available November 13

Apple announced the HomeView smart home hub on October 13, 2026, at its Welcome home event, with consumer availability beginning November 13 at $299. The device is designed to serve as a central command hub for the smart home, integrating entertainment, communication, and home management.

The countertop model features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display mounted on a domed, speaker-equipped base attached by a stainless steel hinge. A separate wall-mounted version is available for specialized installations. The countertop model comes in four colors: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. The wall-mounted version is limited to silver and space gray.

HomeView is powered by the A18 chip and features Siri AI with enhanced conversational capabilities, onscreen awareness, and access to personal context when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled device. The hub can recognize up to six users by their faces, adapting its interface to show specific personal content like calendars, messages, and reminders for each person.

Privacy is a core focus of the device. Siri requests are processed locally or via Private Cloud Compute. The hub supports Matter and Thread protocols for broad compatibility with smart home accessories from other manufacturers.

HomeView can display up to nine live camera feeds simultaneously and provides intelligent, end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, pets, and packages for users with an iCloud+ subscription. It can control lights, locks, and thermostats from a central dashboard.

The device entered the pre-order phase immediately following the October 13 announcement. Wall-mounted installation is handled by Schneider Home mounts.
